DIN127 carbon steel galvanized spring washer (referred to as DIN127 spring washer) is an open type spring locking washer manufactured in accordance with the German DIN 127 standard. It is made of carbon steel as the substrate and galvanized as the surface treatment. Its core function is to prevent bolts/nuts from loosening under vibration and impact conditions through elastic pre tightening force. It is the most commonly used economical anti loosening component in the industrial fastening field.
Working Principle
Elastic pre tightening: When tightening the bolt, the washer is compressed axially, storing elastic potential energy and continuously applying reverse pressure to the nut/bolt to maintain the frictional force of the connection pair.
Anti loosening bite: The sharp corner of the opening is slightly embedded in the surface of the connected part and the fastener under pressure, forming a mechanical bite to prevent the nut from rotating and loosening.
Compensation gap: It can compensate for small deformations, thermal expansion and contraction of the connecting surface, and maintain stable clamping force.

The anti loosening ability belongs to the medium to low level and is not suitable for strong vibration, high torque, and critical safety scenarios (such as aviation and nuclear power).
The galvanized layer is relatively thin, and in strong acid and high salt spray environments, it needs to be upgraded to hot-dip galvanized or stainless steel material.

Selection and usage points
Specification matching: The inner diameter of the washer must strictly correspond to the nominal diameter of the bolt (such as M8 bolt with M8 DIN127 washer).
Installation direction: The open end should face the nut/bolt head to ensure that the sharp corners can effectively bite after compression.
Combination use: For heavy-duty/soft substrate scenarios, it is recommended to use with flat washers (DIN 125) to disperse pressure and protect the surface.
Environmental adaptation: Color zinc is preferred for outdoor/high humidity environments; It is recommended to replace the stainless steel (A2/A4) spring pad in a highly corrosive environment.
