In early 2025, Hongji encountered packaging and transportation defects when delivering a full container of fasteners to a Brazilian client. We faced the issues head-on, conducted in-depth reviews, and carried out comprehensive rectifications and optimizations. With a sincere attitude and professional problem-solving capabilities, we gained full recognition and long-term trust from the client.

After the batch of fasteners was packed, the goods were stored in our factory for more than three months due to adjustments to the client’s procurement schedule. They were then shipped via transoceanic freight for nearly two months, exposed to harsh conditions including high humidity, bumpy voyages, and repeated transshipment and loading/unloading throughout the journey. Upon arrival at the overseas warehouse, the client inspected the cargo and found worn and damp outer cartons, alongside damaged anti-rust protective films on a small number of screws. They promptly shared recorded videos and detailed notes to notify us of the concerns.

Upon receiving the feedback, Hongji immediately launched a special review to pinpoint the root causes. Team analysis confirmed that the damaged packaging stemmed not from defective products, but from insufficient moisture-proof and compression resistance of our standard packaging, which could not withstand the combined strain of prolonged factory storage and lengthy ocean shipping. The extended storage period, compounded by rough transoceanic transport conditions, ultimately compromised the protective packaging.

Even though unfavorable objective operating conditions contributed to the problem, Hongji took full accountability without shifting blame. Our team sorted through every detail of the issue, repeatedly simulated real storage and ocean shipping scenarios, compared multiple packaging materials and protection processes, and ran numerous trials to refine rectification solutions, striving to develop protective measures tailored for long-distance export shipments. After rounds of testing and refinement, we finalized a brand-new standardized export packaging plan to completely revamp our cargo protection system.

To resolve this issue, the company fully upgraded its packaging specifications, phasing out outdated regular packaging in favor of custom thickened, moisture-resistant and pressure-resistant export-grade cartons. We also upgraded heavy-duty anti-rust protective films and reinforced packing procedures, drastically boosting the packaging’s sealing, impact resistance and moisture tolerance to fully adapt to transoceanic shipments and long-term warehousing. Furthermore, the new packaging process was incorporated into our regular export standards to replace old packaging across the board, eliminating similar risks at the source.

We kept the Brazilian client updated at every stage—sharing full details of our root-cause analysis, solution trials and packaging upgrades, while openly explaining the situation and offering a sincere apology. The client highly appreciated Hongji’s willingness to confront problems proactively, efficient rectification execution, and rigorous quality control philosophy.

Following this overhaul, the Brazilian client has maintained repeat orders with us. All subsequent shipments adopt the upgraded packaging, with zero damage or risks during storage and transit, and flawless inspections every time.
